The FF series isn't on top of my list, right now. It's because of the dreaded word: POLYMORPHIC. Basically, the idea is to create a medium that can spam across multiple platforms. If SQUARE ENIX decides to make a Final Fantasy; they're going to attempt to spam it across as many different platforms as possible. We're talking movies, games, action figures, manga, comics, internet...

The problem with POLYMORPHIC companies is they don't specialize enough. FF XIV is just an "Internet affair;" nothing more. It's not going to be the dramatic experience people expect.
Now, there's a new Star Wars: The Old Republic game and it's going to rock. The team has a solid singular goal for that game. It's going to be dramatic and fulfill high expectations. That's going to be a good online game.
