Great vid. I remember wanting to kill my NES as a child. i did manage to make it up to mouser and beat him. After that i was stuck.

And that Grovvy at the end of the video is going to drive me nuts! It's right there at the front of my head I just cant place it!!! arghhh! damn, fuzzy brain cells. uh well. great vid.

You're not the only one who had bad memories of this game. The farthest I got without cheats was level 6. (goddamn air troopers.)

Btw, you neglected to mention that the projectile Shredder shoots with that gun of his turns the turtles back into regular turtles. (A one-hit-kill in other words)

Finally someone that remembers what games were really like. I have three request. Double Dragon III The Sacred Stones, Cool World, and Battletoads V.S. Double Dragon.

I can officially say that the Scrolls do about 4.5-5 squares of health per hit. They come in packs of 20. Okay, I think 20. I wasn't paying attention when I spammed the robot turtle with them. and I've currently got about 12 of them left. It only took like four hits to beat them.

Great video LordKat I was only able to get to the second level when I was a kid but then again I was only five at the time and I never got a chance to beat it because my nintendo died on me and my parents never replaced it.By the way congratulations on finally being picked up by TGWTG.com you deserve it man can't wait for next vid.

Are you planning to do Die Hard for the NES? I know you don't necessarily like to do games the Nerd has already covered but it seems like a pretty hard game, or at least a "you're gonna die a lot" game, rather than a badly developed game.

That damn dam stage. I remember just one time I actually beat it as a kid only to get owned right aftewards not knowing what to do in the driving one. After that I said screw it an never played it again.

Only played this on the C64 and only beat it with a Trainer, but it was practically unplayable: C64 Joysticks only had 1 Button, so Jumping generally was pushing the stick up... :)

With the help of Until We Win I can get to the second or third last room before Shredder on my NES without cheats. I honestly don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do in that room though because even if I have all four turtles with a large chunk of health, there's this narrow corridor with rocket pack guys shooting lasers at me, and crap from behind shooting me too. Every time I get totally raped by enemies and get a game over. It's so annoying that I can get THAT CLOSE, and then get clobbered every single time. Then I have to go back to the beginning of the game and start over. >_>
