Hey kat, another great episode. Your on my Top 5 sites now along with James Rolfe, spoony, and doug. I have been a fan now for about 3 weeks, and have finally gotten around to registering on your site here to post comments. Keep these coming, I really dig your videos. One video should be about the stuff you got there in the background I noticed in later videos you kinda added to the collection a bit. The book that really caught my eye was the Quake book back there. I am pretty sure that is the same book I had. It shows you how to mod and make maps and stuff like that for Quake right? Btw, I still play quake 1 online with Ezquake. there are some really good USA server stil out there. Anyway, One day I hope you tackle Section Z for NES. Holy crapola that game made me have nightmares. It is permanently burned into my memory of one of hardest games I have ever played. Anyhoo, keep up the great work!!
Great video as usual Jason
Managed to register, the Anonymous was me.. Alright, I'm registered now, so again - Great work on the video. Loved it, and it's one of my favorite SNES games, but it's another one that I didn't get anywhere close to beating.
Great ep.
I never beat SCIV, so it was nice to see monsters that returned in other games, like the Ghost Dancers.
I had no idea it's supposed to be a remake, doesn't seem like that at all.
Try Haunted Castle, the Castlevania arcade game... There are several versions of it, the hardest one is possibly completely impossible.
Other suggestions:
- Art of Fighting 2 (Neo Geo)
Hard as shit fighting game, in which you can't lose even a round or you don't get to fight the real last boss... The first opponent is harder than most games' bosses.
- Viewpoint (Neo Geo)
Very interesting looking diagonally viewed shooter. Unfortunately also absurdly difficult
- Gradius III (arcade, SNES version is easier)
Since you enjoyed Silver Surfer so much... This is thought to be the absolutely hardest traditional side-scrolling shooter.
The clincher with Haunted Castle is that you only get three continues, that's it.
Oh, there is also the arcade version of Athena... (you only get three lives in that game, no continues whatsoever.)
Awesome, these vids are great!
Maybe you should do contra, hard and fun.
please do Krion Conquest, it's a total ripoff of megaman, but WAY harder.
definitely go for gradius III that game is a fucking bitch
Hey Lordkat! I got to know your UWW series of videos in the last few days and it would seem you're some kind of gaming demi-god of awesome game beating powers! \m/
It would be great if you ever done Maximum Carnage for the SNES, I rented this game a lot in my childhood days, but never got to beat it. :(
Nice! Now, for your next game can you do "Bloodwings: Pumkinhead's Revenge"?
It's the game that time has forgotten.
Can you review - Ecco 1 "Ecco The Dolphin". I never really got far into the game, but I remember it was quite challenging. I'd like to see that game get beat and see how some of the story progressed.
good vid bro happy late halloween
Contra would be a good playthrough, although it may not be as difficult as some of the games you've played, it wasn't easy! (I can't remember which of them was hardest, third one?)
A totally different game that isn't for any console although it has reminders of many classics, "I Wanna Be The Guy". Known for being one of the hardest games ever made that was actually possible to win. You can download it from http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/i-wanna-be-the-guy/files/5/

Actually, the Medusa is probably the easiest Castlevania boss I've ever fought (aside from that Karasuman in SotN...). If you crouch for the whole battle, she can't petrify you. And it's easier to kill the snakes. The only way she can actually hurt you is by touching you (but that only happens if you do it on purpose) or hitting you with snakes, but I just ignore them since they don't deal that much damage.
If you have the Cross/Boomerang, you can kill her in just a few hits.
And about the Japanese version: I've played it, and there's NO acid in the cave stage, just normal water. The only stage with acid (or slime) dropping down on you is the dungeon stage, and that only in the US version. The Japanese version has blood instead.
Speaking of the differences: Almost all of them are purely cosmetic. The only real differences are a slightly different whip sound and bosses that tend to be a bit faster in the Japanese version.

You know, an easy way to kill death, is to crouch behind that little platform on the left when he vaccuums you near him. Then, when he flys around with his flying sctyhe, just swirl the whip around, you shouldn't take any damaga. Though it does take some time. Oh and sometime you can directly whip him, but it's not often ._. I'm surprised you haven''t mentionned this way, I found it out the first time I tryed him xD
I actually got an emulator(Isnt that the reason for UWW anyway?) and a controller(Quess what - it didnt fucking work, controller input) and tried to get far in this game. It's not as easy, i havent even gotten to the first boss, and cant imagine beating Dracula(But then again my dpad is the numlock buttons). I would reccomend having put an emulator download, or something in the end credits so people can easily pick it up and try to beat it by themselves rather than watching you suffer. OR some games like doom and battletoads are in flash now! links to that would prob cause problems, but its much easier than having to google all kinds of shit and finding out it didnt work.
Other than that, great review, helps out.
theres an easier way to defeat the Grim Reaper right before Dracula, when he's throwing his sickles, tap the whip button and keep it pressed. Then proceed to wave the whip around Simon's face. Most of the sickles will never hit you, and you dont need to do anything else than just to stand around and wave your whip around.
