tis not playing
The rules are simple: no cheating. No save states. Play it like it's on the NES.
Oh man, I think I need a vacation after this.
Try disabling your ad blocker. A pre-roll ad plays before the video as it's a necessary way for me to support the site.
so whats up with the second quest? i wanna know^^
I have no idea. I tried the second quest password on a couple of different ROMs and the two Silver Surfer carts that I owned, and neither of them seemed to work - at the end the game just gave me the "hard mode" password again.
So I said "screw it" and quit playing.
Hahaha the song at the end was PERFECT. I haven't heard that in awhile.
Awesome video I must say.
"Dying all the time is allright, but I wished the game killed me more"
Is going straight into my section of favorite quotes.
Can't wait for the next Until we win!
Hate to tell you this, but there's supposedly a third quest too.
Password: J8SCL9
Yeah, the programmers hated kids.
What the hell is wrong with these people? Who was the target audience? 10-12 year olds dosed on 500 mg of straight caffeine? Good god...
Yo, Mr. Kat, you are TOTAL DOUBLE BRUTAL!
Whats that Song at the end? :D
It's "They're Coming to Take Me Away" by Napoleon. Older song, but it fits.
This is most definitely your best ending. That song is funny as hell and fits perfectly. That and the look on your face is priceless. LMAO!!!
As the Nerd would say, 'this games isn't really bad. It's fucking horrible!!' At least the Touhou games have some mercy when it comes to challenge, but they're still hard as hell.
Hey, LK! Do you accept requests or suggestions of games for future UWW videos?
I finally managed the kchdr4 mode... but I guess I'll die a little more now in the next difficulty...woho... ( when I enter the password its not a different quest, but the enemys are taking also more damage than in hard mode )
After watching this video, I tried to succesfully beat this game, just for the thrill. I thought : "Hey! What an interesing game! The task of mastering it must be great!" I was not convinced about the impossibility to beat it.
After one and a half week (5 hours and 21 minutes exactly) of gaming, I won on the normal mode. 1 hour after (6 hours and 44 minutes total), I beat the hard mode. I think that it would have been nice if the programers put some difference between those two modes, other than just increasing the resistance of the monster the Silver Surfer faces. Is the Second Quest mode the same thing? If so, I think I may be able to manage to beat this game before dawn.
After all, this game is just plain old memorization : once you know where the upgrades are and where the safest way to go is, you must be able to beat it fairly. The only difficulty when you manage to do that is to not rush into a wall by accident.
Oh yes, I wanna say : you make awesome videos, LordKat. I really think that your musical choices are as accurate as your comments. When you make a video about a game, if that game seem fun, even if it is hard as hell, you make the viewers wanting to play it. I don't know if your goal is to do that, but it's the effect created for me.
Maybe it's pride...
Well, continue to do your videos, LordKat. You kick ass!
[Edit : 3 more hours, and I haven't beaten the second quest. It doesn't appear like that, but ennemies more resistant can make a lot of difference. I'll continue tomorrow, maybe tonight.]
DDGeek...The second quest password doesn't work with this game.
Oh yes, it works. At least, it works on my game.
The only difference between the Hard mode and the Second Quest mode is that the Second Quest mode gives the ennemies more health than in the Hard mode. That's not quite original, but I can tell the difference.
Excellent video! Finally, a gamer who posts videos of beating hard games legitimately and going into detail about how to do it, likes the challenge, and does more then NES games. Don't know how I didn't see your videos before but glad I did now. Keep up the great Until We Win videos!
