Man, you seem like an awesomely laid back dude; sounds like you'd be a cool bloke to throw back a coupla beers with.
I can't use your text-voicemail thingy, what with being half way across the world, but I'd like to suggest a game, even though it might not fit into your style- La-Mulana. There's been a pretty big Let's Play of it, but I think a more cut-down version would be good for people who don't want to slog through 89 videos of Deceased Crab (who's not really that funny). Thing is, La-Mulana is a puzzle platformer; I'm not sure if you'd enjoy doing a video of a game with an emphasis on solving puzzles.
Anyways, that's my request. Keep up the damn good work, man.
Just wanted to tell you one thing: I dare you to play through Last Battle and/or Shadow of the Beast on the Sega Mega Drive (or Sega Genesis for you Americans). One tip though: Play the European version (PAL format) of Shadow of the Beast because the american version of the game is actually running TOO FAST, as it was poorly ported.
Anyway, I hope you will take on any of my requests. =)
Best regards// Olof Albiin, Sweden
Instead of delaying... just take a week off if you have to.
And I'm not gonna force you or anything like that, but I don't think you should cross out good shmups. Especially bullet hell ones. They are often beautiful and it is interesting to watch boss patterns. Knowing the patterns and ways to overcome them is a big part to beating the game, so the "educational" value of the video would be fulfilled, and 'I think' that you can say interesting things about the games.
Those are my 2 cents. At least now I know why you didn't reply to my e-mail about Touhou (I wrote too much, didn't I? Sorry ^^; )
Okay, Game suggestion(s). Bethesda has officially made the Elderscrolls: Arena and the Elderscrolls 2: Daggerfall free download games at the website for that series. I'd like to see your thoughts on those two games.
Heres a suggestion that may seem a little left field
Magic Carpet for the PC by Bullfrog (before EA bought them out)
No patches to make the game easier and no cheat codes
Its easy at first but it gets very hard very fast, especially after lvl 26 and the final lvl (lvl 50) is an absolute killer.
Also it would make a nice change of pace from console games.
I have one question though: What would you think of the game God Hand for the PS2?
Let's just say when a game as hard as God Hand (and it's the modern heir to the title of Nintendo Hard, btw) gives you infinite continues, you'll be needing every single one of them.
Are you gonna do a roguelike like Dungeon Crawl or Nethack? They're free and hard as hell (you only have one life and when you die, your save gets erased so you have to start a new game as a lvl 1 character) so I think it'll be perfect for Until We Win.
Like the show. If you're up for it, how about Legend of the Mystical Ninja for the SNES? It's the only 16-bit Goemon game to hit the SNES, it's fun, and... well, it gets hard.
can I recommend Cinelerra (http://cinelerra.org/), Kino (http://2tu.us/14h5) for you Linux video editing. Cinelerra does have .deb packages and is version 4.1 :-)
The high score challenge thing sounds pretty cool, I guess a little shout out to the top-scorers or something would be nice. Don't worry about delaying the show too, you still crank these out faster than most and it's appreciated.
Have you ever played the game "Solstice" for the NES? It was one of my favorite games of all time, you might want to try giving that game a shot. It's not so hard as it is long and confusing, and a complex maze, but the game is very fun. Love your series btw, especially the Battetoads entry... seeing as I never passed Level Three myself.
Just wondering, but why are all your videos on TGWTG out of order? Was there any reason behind it, or are they putting them up differently? not a complaint, just curious.
I wish i could suggest some games, but battletoads and bayou billy, were 2 of the hardest games i remember from when i was little. games like top gun, contra, and the ninja gaiden games would be the best ones i could offer up that i've played, even tho contra isn't really that hard just really challenging until you figure out the tricks. top gun is really only hard on the landings and refueling, and you would most likely figure out where you need to be after a few tries. and even tho it is another game that isn't impossibly hard, ninja gaiden would be fun to watch since it is one of those that once your master it, it is easy, but it takes some skill to master. and i know you mainly do old school games, but i would love to see your tricks to get thru the new ninja gaiden games on master ninja.
Haven't seen this game recommended anywhere but I suggest you play the game The 7th Saga for the SNES. It is widely considered one of the hardest RPG's ever released.
is it ok to use emulators for the high scroe challenge.
And i'd still be willing to send you god of war 2 on titan mode for you to do. I bought the god of war collection anyways so i have two copies, and trust this game is insane on the hardest mode.
Love the series. Just found out about you from Spoony's link to your Bayou Billy vid. I don't know if you respond to requests but I have a few I think would be great. They are three of my Master System nightmare games: Teddy Boy, Shinobi, and Alex Kidd in High Tech World. Teddy Boy is 52 levels of evil, Shinobi is short but amazingly hard especially the final boss, and this Alex Kidd is pretty much impossible if you don't have a walkthrough.
You don't use up your Windows license just by re-installing. If you have problems with the automatic activation just use the phone method and they'll help you activate it properly.
You can use your license key a million times on the same computer, you just can't use it on more than one computer.
I'm a tech and I've reinstalled a million pcs and had to use this phone option. It's a pain in the ass, but it works.
First

For that high score challenge, would we be allowed to quick save/load?

Ever considered Comix Zone. That one is stupid hard. One live, no continues, brutal enemies, instant death traps. That game destroyed my sanity.

F-Zero GX, story mode.
On very hard.
Hey here is a website that lists the top five video editors for Linux. You should check it out. Maybe one of these will work for you.

Has the texting/phone # worked out or has it been a pain?
As always: Fester's Quest!
:)

Your movie editing program crashing when you tried to do almost anything reminds me of how bad Windows Movie Maker is.
Hey Jason, are you so sure some of the viewers aren't here to just see you suffer? I wouldn't put it past them :)
And to comment on one of the comments - I have to say watching someone play Nethack would be pretty visually uninteresting.

I like the idea of the game challenge, sounds like fun.
Also like a user above said. just take next week off its a holiday

If you can't find a video editor that you like you can always try and get your favourite one from windows working.. appdb.winehq.org

Hey LordKat, can you do :"Tower of Druaga" on the nes? That game is hard as fuck!
for an OS why don't you use Linux ?
Haven't seen this game recommended anywhere but I suggest you play the game The 7th Saga for the SNES. It is widely considered one of the hardest RPG's ever released.
Please do the Krion Conquest on the NES, it's an EVIL hard clone of megaman.
"or an OS why don't you use Linux ?"
He uses Ubuntu.

Yeah, that thing about using up licenses doesn't sound right. If you have a copy of Windows, you have a license.
Still, it's cool that he uses Linux.
