There's no way I wouldn't recognize that song at the end: Blaster Master! That was one of the first games I played as a kid, about 20 years back.

I beat it for the first time 4 months ago.

Yeah.

Should of mentioned the remake - Bionic Commando: Rearmed. (Not Bionic Commando, the 2009 flop crap game)
The remastered soundtrack is bloody amazing. Highly recommend playing that if you're interested in some Bionic Commando swinging action you don't want to go through a NES hard game.

Blaster Master! Some of the most nostalgic music from the games of my youth. Loved that game.

Sadly, I'm unfamiliar with Bionic Commando.. but a good job nonetheless.

I'm seconding the recommendation for Rearmed. Same platforming, great music, better weapons and much, much better bosses. None of them is a pushover. It's one of the best remakes I've seen.

The last levels got a full revamp, though. The Albatross got scaled up in size and is now an entire level, and you actually fight Hitl.. Master-D. The confrontation is at par with Iji's final boss in atmosphere.

Awesome, as usual LordKaT =)

But I would like to know couple of things, now that I am a fan. Why you don't have your video "Until We Win - Explosive Throwing Kantarou And The 53 Stations Of The Tokaido" listed here on this website? Is there a complete list of your videos somewhere and if not, please make one?

Thank you for the entertainment you've created!

You have so much patience. It's admirable. I never much like this one, because it was just a pain to get around without being able to jump. And... Ga Ga Ga.
You should try beating Timeslip (SNES). That one will probably give you nightmares.

You might want to try less known, but admirable and hard games. I've 2 that you might be interested in, both aren't very well known, they're difficult (not ghosts and goblins, but at times, close), and excellent in every manner of the word. The 2 games are Robo Warrior and Solar Jetman.

God I remember beating this when I was a kid. My parents bought it for my brother and it was a great game.

Short of some RPGs it's got one of the best endings for a platformer that I've ever seen.

This looks really cool and the chain thing was a pretty cool concept and original for the NES

I have been playing Bionic Commando for years, and I haven't actually found it particularly hard, but maybe it's because I've played through it a bajillion times.

If anyone is curious, I have an LP of the Japanese version of this game Top Secret - Hitler no Fukkatsu on my youtube.

Lordkat actually did miss a considerable number of notable tips:
-The Energy Recovery pills are INVALUABLE later in the game. They give you an instant refill of health once per life. You get them in area 1.
-You can grind for bullets in areas with parachuting soldiers. This can make earlier levels much easier since you have more health.
-You do not in fact need the flares in area 4, they just make it easier to see.
-LordKat mentions "the continue trick" but doesn't actually say how to get them. In the overhead areas, you can pick up continues by killing jeeps, shielded soldiers, and bionic soldiers.
- In Area 12, you can't destroy the supercomputer guarded by the bearded soldier. It's impossible; it's a fake. You also can't get out of that room once you enter, so the only way to beat it is to skip that door completely and keep going.
- You can, in fact, beat the entire game without changing your communicator. It just takes a bit of knowhow.

Hate to tell you this, but that "for n00bs" version of Final Fantasy V has the EXACT SAME Omega as the SNES/PS1 versions.

Same stats, same weakness, same strategy, everything.

Try going back to your old SNES/PS1 copy and fighting Omega there again. You'll be surprised ;).

Don't mean to brag, but I never thought that the game was too hard. I've never paid attention to the communicators, but always used the last one I acquired and never got a Ga Ga Ga...

Also, using the items. As a kid, when something didn't work I simply tried pressing all buttons. It's not that hard to figure out :)

Oh, and btw: I didn't really read or understand english until I was about 14, so I had no clue what people were saying in Nintendo Games.
