This Post Should Have Been a VLog
I'm writing this post from my main computer, but this "post" should have been a Vlog. The reason it's not? My fucking Internet connection is just GONE.
Here's the kicker: I don't know what's wrong here. I had a phone conversation with my former ISP, Time Warner Cable, and it went something like this:
Me: "Hi, my Internet connection is down. What's wrong?"
TWC: "Your account is in violation of the Acceptable Usage Agreement. In your case, this is most likely not your direct fault, but because of the nature of the violation, we have to disconnect your account."
Me: "So what exactly is the nature of the violation? Are we talking about a DDoS? Spam? Torrents? What exactly is wrong here?"
TWC: "I'm sorry sir, but we're not allowed to discuss that."
Me: "How in the hell am I supposed to fix the problem if you won't tell me what the fuck it is?"
TWC: "I'm sorry, but there's nothing else I can do for you. Is there anything else you need help with?"
Me: "I hate you. I hate all of you."
So, essentially, my conversation with TWC went like this:
Me: "o hai my internets broke. fix plz?"
TWC: "lol no wai ur computar is fuxord."
Me: "o how i fix?"
TWC: "lolol I'm not tellin u go fix it urself dumass"
Me: "fuck u!"
TWC: "No, fuck YOU! lololololololololololol"
Goddamn. If it's really THAT bad, I NEED to know what the fuck is going on so I can isolate, contain, and repair. It's not like I've got one magical machine connected here.
So, yeah, this isn't in vlog format because fuck knows how long it would take to upload this shit on this 1G/2G connection. I'll work something out for next weeks Until We Win, hopefully.

Hmm, i'd call back and speak to someone else. I've been known many times to end up luckily landing on someone who isn't stupid. Sometimes thats all it takes to get the right information

usually when I get something like that I ask about canceling the service then they get helpful.

TimeWarner sucked monkey balls as an ISP. Their connection was never as fast as advertised, and the upload speeds were complete crap. I switched to AT&T Uverse, which is some variant of VHDSL, and I love it so far. My max DL tops out at 2.1 MB/s, and the upload is about 180 KB/s. Pretty sweet. (TimeWarner was doing good to manage 40 KB/s upload)

Hmm, personally i doubt it's torrents, or really anything classified as illegal, TW isn't exactly as tight on that as say comcast or so i hear.
If i was to make a guess, they probably got too much traffic coming from you.
Simplest way to put it is they didn't like your bandwidth use, so they came up with a reason to F you over, even though legally you've done nothing wrong, which would explain why they are being tight lipped.

Here's what you do.
Call back.
Ask for higher ups until you get someone that knows that they are talking about so don't have to bull shit over the phone with things like "Oh I can't tell you that."
And if that doesn't work you simply say
Shut up woman get on mah horse.
Works everytime.

Well..
In Finland access to cheap caple internet is written in the law (as basic rights). If that is not the case in the USA, cannot really help you. Hopefully you'll find a solution.
