Working on my set

I have to admit, life brings with it some nice quirks that ultimately lead to some interesting topics to discuss on stage; for example, I was talking to a close friend of mine the other day, and she was lamenting the loss of her father in a plane crash 10 months ago.

In an effort to cheer her up, I cracked a joke. It turns out this joke makes me sound like a completely insensitive prick.

I said: "Well, you should've saved a slice of the corpse and eaten it on the one year anniversary."

Needless to say, she didn't take it too well; but, the joke gets some nice laughs and groans.

Thank God for Fox News

Thank god Fox News is around - they're the single best source for silly shit in the world, constantly rotating a cast of hypocrites posing as legitimate sources of information.

Oh, you think Fox News is a legitimate source of information? Then consider this: their primary "military analyst" - whom they go to in order to justify bringing up the military in any conversation - is Oliver North.

For those of you who don't recall, good ol' olly is mostly responsible for the Iran-contra scandal of the 80's. And, after that whole debacle, he later admitted to lying to Congress in order to push his political goals.

So tune in to Fox News, for all of your reliable propaganda from military personnel who are willing to arm countries and start wars to get a pay raise.

Tips and Myths of Stand Up Comedy Open Mic Nights

Since I've been going back to the open-mic circuit in New York City my family and friends have had a lot of questions about what it's like, as if they're harboring some long-forgotten fantasy and would like to live is vicariously through me.

I've noticed a few myths that seem to perpetuate the minds of most of my friends when it comes to stand up comedy, and I'd like to bust that fucking bubble before someone asks me this shit again.
