This week we're taking on an old school RPG, Atari's "Adventure"! This is a contest entry for an RPG video contest.

A note, this one didn't want to render easy, and fought me a lot. Please forgive teh small glitches in the production, they couldn't be helped really.

"Adventure" is one of my all time favorite (or if not favorite then at least most nostalgic) games. By the way, we *did* have both an Atari 2600 and an Intellivision. Then again, we had a lot more money in those days.

Using "Stonehenge" was a nice touch.

Everyone always says the dragons look like ducks. They're clearly seahorses. But seriously, if it helps you to suspend your disbelief then remember that there's no universally agreed upon image of what dragons are supposed to look like and not all accounts of them in ancient lore clearly describe their physical appearance anyway. Of course, I've never seen any ancient references to swords that use the same word in the original language they use for "arrow"....

There was one kid in the neighborhood who had Colecovision, the graphics were much better but the game system wasn't that fun. Unless you liked playing "smurfs". But I take the dragon thing at face value, I mean clearly the guy you're playing looks like a box. First generation of Solid Snake? *chuckles*

And the Spinal Tap song was a required element of the contest. I was gonna use Big Bottom but Stonehenge was just a better choice. I could have chosen either a Spinal Tap song or a Shakespeare quote, so I did both.

And having both system? lucky. :) Actually, WAY back when I remember having a PONG game for our TV.
